Frosting Sheets (or edible prints on frosting sheets) can be applied to / adhere to any food surface that has moisture. So any icing should be fine, the smoother the coating the better it will look, and the less watery the substrate the better so as to prevent the frosting sheet from dissolving. If you try to adhere the edible prints to a dry surface, you can add a little water/misting, the frosting sheets will adhere with just a small amount of moisture.
